Digital Women is an Iowa State University student organization dedicated to encouraging, supporting, and retaining women in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and MIS.
We want to help you succeed by providing opportunities for networking, career development, and much-needed fun with other like-minded women in technical majors.
Digital Women meets every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Coover 3043.
Joining Digital Women is easy! All you need to do is sign up on our stuorg website and begin showing up to meetings.

Do I have to attend every meeting?

Nope! Feel free to come and go to meetings you are able to attend. You will always be welcomed whether you attend one meeting in a semester, or 15.


Will food be provided?

YES! Food choices vary by week. If there's something specific you want you should tweet us, post on our Facebook, or let someone on exec know so we can accommodate!

Do I have to be in CS/CPRE/EE/SE/MIS to join?

Nope. While we highly encourage you to be in one of our focus majors, a love for technology is all that's required to join! :)


Alexis Cordts



Alexis is a software engineering major whose favorite Digital Women memory is attending our hackathon with friends. When she's not busy with homework, she enjoys going to the gym, hanging out with friends, and watching Netflix.

Katie Hansen

Vice President


Katie is a sophomore studying software engineering and French who likes to spend her free time watching movies with friends and trying new restaurants. She enjoys coming to Digital Women to connect with other women in tech and make new friends.

Sonyta Ung



Sonyta is a senior studying computer science. She loves cooking, crafting, traveling, hiking, doing adventure things, or hanging out with friends in her free time.

Kelsey Van Drie



Kelsey is a junior studying Management Information Systems. She loves working out and dancing, and she is also passionate about meeting new people and making friends with other women in tech.

Britney is a sophomore in software engineering. In her free time she enjoys making origami, playing guitar, and going on adventures. Her favorite part about Digital Women is meeting new people.

Katelyn is a senior studying computer science. She loves to cook, play video games, and hang out with friends when she’s not busy studying or doing homework.

Veronica is a senior in Computer Engineering. She enjoys hanging out with friends/family, watching netflix, and trying new places to eat when she isn't busy with school.

Erica is a sophomore majoring in Software Engineering with a minor in Data Science. She is originally from Chicago. She joined Digital Women because she wanted to have a supportive community filled with like minded women. Digital Women has encouraged her to continue learning outside the classroom, step up into leadership roles, and meet so many amazing women!

Tanya is a junior in Management Information Systems with a minor in Data Science who enjoys reading, traveling, and cool nature spots.

Swechha Ghimire

Social Chair


Swechha is a senior in software engineering with a minor in cybersecurity. Her plans after graduation are to do the concurrent graduate program in computer engineering and to work as a full time SWE. Outside of that, she loves to hang out with friends, try new food and work out!
